Traptrix Rafflesia
Full art:

Crown:

Fragrance:

“Nice fragrance (directly attacks the brain)”

Main body:

Other Traptrix monsters: “Ah!”

“Outfit”:

“These are a set until this point”

Illustrator’s comment:

“I remember struggling about whether I ‘should make the design similar to the past Traptrix, or just move past it…’. ‘If the design is similar, then the tiny differences will aggressively stand out, and if they are not similar at all, then there would a lack of respect’…is a thought that still crosses my mind to this day. As a result, I drew them with a very slightly different feel. But because that’s only what I see from my point of view…that is but my own interpretation.”

TL note: Rafflesia’s release date is not much older than the first batch of Traptrix monsters, so this comment may be referring to the newer ones.

Traptrix Genlisea & Cularia
Full art:

Hair:

“Abundant bangs
Its skin and even its eyebrows cannot be seen because of its hair”

Back of its head:

“The back of its head is its mouth”

TL note: It’s not very clear what the sound effect on the left is supposed to be. It’s likely about the “eye” opening up.

Personality:

“Really good at acting”
Genlisea: “Kekeke” (laughing)

Capturing prey:

“Captures its prey one by one”

Personality:

“It probably feels lonely when it’s by itself
And when it’s lonely, it starts crying, which attracts people…”

Main body:

“Translucent
This is its actual main body. Most of the time these are around its feet”

Various sounds (opening, closing, wiggling):

Traptrix Arachnocampa
Full art:

Main body:

“The end of its hair is the main body”

Stretching:

“Can become extremely thin”

Stickiness:

Top: “Arachnocampa itself does not get stuck”
Top right: “*Smooth sliding*”
Bottom: “*Stuck, pulling*”

Traptrix Pinguicula
Full art:

Size:

“Its lure is slightly larger than the others’ (it has eaten a lot)”

Size comparison:

Capturing prey:

Top: “Can endlessly release liquid”
Bottom left: “Very sticky leaves”
Bottom right: “Connected to its root”

“Flower” texture:

“It doesn’t look like its texture is flower-like at all”

Back view:

Drool:

“At some point it became unable to stop drooling”

Illustrator’s comment:

“Its motif is after the pinguicula: a carnivorous plant that [captures its prey] when it carelessly approaches a violet (which it’s similar to, yet it’s a slightly different plant), making it stick there, digesting it, and absorbing it. The [tactic] of disguising its appearance in order to prey makes one shiver. And if its disguise is that of a human, it’s even more horrifying. Because it’s a plant, it probably does not have a brain… From the point of view of the Traptrix, they are merely surviving, and it’s unjustified that one is scared of them. While it’s necessary for everyone to imitate others in order to become an adult, it sure is terrifying to be the one that is imitated.”

Traptrix Atypus
Full art:

Description/”outfit”:

“Because it creates purse-like nests and captures its prey by opening holes, its [“outfit”] is similar to a hole-knit sweater”

Ears:

“It doesn’t have ears”

Practicing how to smile:

Main body:

“Extends towards its main body”

Traptrix Holeutea
Full art:

Description:

“It has the function to capture insects, but it cannot turn them into nutrients”

“Ah…Ah…?”

Sloping shoulders:

“Outfit”:

Right view: “When it first picked up some cloth ->”
Left view: “Because the cloth kept getting caught in its hair, it got torn”

Behavior:

“Because it’s a Trap, it hides under leaves”
Human: “It doesn’t seem to be around here”
