Strategic Summary:

Today’s Creative Deck Profile takes on the Arcana Force [AF] archetype, bolstered by the new wave of support in the upcoming core set, Supreme Darkness. The AF monsters are known for having two effects – the choice of which each monsters has falls to the flip of a coin on their Summon. For example, if the Arcana Force VI – The Lovers is Summoned and the coin results in Heads, it can be treated as 2 Tributes for an AF Tribute Summon, or if the result is tails, you cannot Tribute Summon AF monsters. To ensure a bit of consistency, the deck was given Light Barrier, a Field Spell that lets you pick which effect you want to apply without needing the cointoss, and that was eventually followed by Arcana Force XV – The Fiend which can discard itself to nab a copy of Barrier from your Deck or GY. Regardless of iteration, the most powerful AF monster has always been Arcana Force XXI – The World. This Level 8 boss has a Heads effect unlike any other monster in the game – during the End Phase, it gets to send 2 monsters to the GY to skip the opponent’s next turn. In other words, get this out and you’ll have another turn to crush their spirit, as they are left staring at all the cards they can’t play.

Alright, so how do we make The World happen? Let’s check out the new cards in SUDA. First up is Arcana Force XIX – The Sun (YGOrg Translation), a Level 7 that can Special Summon itself from the hand when any card involving a cointoss is on the field. When summoned, its Heads effect lets you set any Spell that has a cointoss effect, whereas its Tails effect destroys all cards in the S/T Zones. While it can grab Light Barrier and the theme’s last support card, Arcana Reading, it also gives you access to the two new Spells: Arcana Spread (YGOrg Translation) and The Wave of Light (YGOrg Translation). Like the monsters, Spread has two effects: the Heads effect Special Summons a Level 4 or lower AF monster from Deck, while the Tails effect summons any monster with a cointoss effect from your GY. The Wave of Light, on the other hand, is the ultimate consistency card, able to discard any card to tutor 2 AF monsters with different names. While of course this tutors the World, it also can tutor the last new Main Deck monster, Arcana Force V – The Hierophant (YGOrg Translation). This Level 4 offers a Heads effect that Special Summons a Level 4 or lower AF from your Deck with a different name than those on your field/in your GY, and its Tails effect Special Summons any AF to your opponent’s field! While of course you typically want a monster of your own, I love giving the opponent a copy of Arcana Force III – The Empress, because if lady luck is on your side, they might just have to start sending cards to the GY each time you Normal Summon!

Wrapping up this strategy is the ultimate boss monster for the theme, a Level 10 Fusion named Arcana Force EX – The Chaos Ruler (YGOrg Translation). It is Special Summoned by sending 3 AF monsters with different names from either field to the GY, and when summoned, its Heads effect Summons a Level 10 AF monster from your hand/Deck while its Tails effect tutors any card with a cointoss effect. If you don’t remember them, this theme has two Level 10 bosses that boast a 4000/4000 statline in Arcana Force EX – The Light Ruler and Arcana Force EX – The Dark Ruler, which is plenty to kill an opponent after a World turnskip. With that, I’ve covered all the main cards, so all that is left is to see the theme in action. Don’t leave the duel up to fate – control your own destiny with the Arcana Force!
