Strategic Summary:

Today’s Creative Deck Profile features the return of the Ryzeal to my channel, now empowered by their first wave of follow-up support in Alliance Insight. If you missed my last take on Ryzeal combined with Time Thief, be sure to check that out here to see the theme in action: https://youtu.be/F_kRUKn1yso

Now that you’re back, let’s talk about the two new cards that Ryzeal has to play with. First up is Star Ryzeal (YGOrg Translation), a new Level 4 LIGHT Pyro that can detatch any Xyz Material to Special Summon itself from the hand. When you do, it sets a Ryzeal S/T from your deck. This is a great way to grab the other new Ryzeal card, Ryzeal Mass Driver (YGOrg Translation) which just boosts the ATK of all Ryzeal by 1000 for the turn, before attaching itself to any R4NK Xyz Monster. Of course this works well with Time Thief Redoer to give yourself a Trap material to spin a face-up card back to deck, but it also can load another bullet in Ryzeal Detonator’s cannon. Mass Driver also has an effect when sent to the GY, except from the Field, banishing a card from the opponent’s GY, which just happens to work when detached from an Xyz monster.

Now, the Ryzeal theme is well known for its power level, so I decided to pair it with another Level 4 archetype in Traptrix, because the Traptrix has such an assortment of tools that let it build a fearsome Turn 1 Board. With Traptrix Sera generating advantage like noone’s business, the array of Trap Hole Trap Cards that can conquer anything the opponent throws at you, or just the threat of Traptrix Rafflesia activating a Trap Hole card from your deck, you have a real triple threat with this archetype. Paired with the consistent Ryzeal backing, it’s possible to make a full Traptrix play, then go into the Ryzeal cards, lock yourself into R4NK Summons, and build out the best endboard possible. There’s also a natural connection between these two archetypes in Ryzeal Plasma Hole – since the Traptrix cards support ‘Hole’ Traps, it counts! This lets you make some interesting combos with Star Ryzeal and either Traptrix Genlisea or Traptrix Vesiculo. Let Pyro and Thunder monsters into your Traptrip Garden and unleash a Terrifying Trap Hole Nightmare!
