STORY & ILLUSTRATIONS No.07:
Gunkan
A place where you can get a taste of refined Gunkan for a suitable price: the “Sushi Spot: ‘Kaisen'”. Let’s take a deeper look at the charm of this long-established store, where Gunkan connoisseurs from all over the country flock day and night, through some review blogs.
A long-established store where you can taste the ultimate integration of delicacy and refinement
At this store, located at the naval port and boasting over 100 years of history, we had the pleasure of experiencing the finest dish authored by authentic craftsmen. Furthermore, red vinegar will begin to be imported from EDO-FRONT starting this year. By adding this new ingredient, the high-quality “Shari-Red” will be offered from the newly-built, dedicated dock.
TL note: “Integration” here (一貫) can mean both “integration” and “one piece of sushi.”

TL note: All of the 4 reviews at the end are cut off intentionally, so we can only get a glance of what each reviewer experienced.
End of chapter
TL note: “Market price” here is a term used in sushi shops and other businesses where the price of perishable goods is variable and can only be determined at the time the item is ordered, up to the time the bill is settled.
