Strategic Summary:

With the rise of the newest Structure Deck R recently released to the OCG, it’s time to revisit The Agent archetype and play around with their sick new tools. Long story up front: This deck now has a ridiculous amount of combo power, resulting in disruptive boards that can truly control the rest of the duel. The Agent strategy has always tried to abuse the effect of The Agent of Creation – Venus to continuously spam Mystic Shine Balls to your field to use as fodder for Extra Deck summons. This strategy is even better with the release of Guard of the Agents – Moon (YGOrg Translation) , a Link 2 monster that loads Majesty Hyperion (YGOrg Translation) into your GY and continues the climb into Celestial Knightlord Parshath. Speaking of Parshath, that’s right – the Agent archetype can now effectively run The Sanctuary in the Sky without losing power, with the help of The Agent of Life – Neptune (YGOrg Translation) . Neptune is also the source of the decks resilience to disruption, letting you recover your Venus to try to spam Shine Balls once more!

While the deck is good at getting material, the true lockdown happens with its consistent access to Archlord Kristya, which prevents both players from Special Summoning. But once you already have that on board, your opponent will be hard pressed to get rid of it in today’s modern game. But even if they do, additional disruption options are easily accessible such as Lost Sanctuary (YGOrg Translation) to negate monster effects, Divine Punishment to negate any activation, The Executor of Hades – Pluto (YGOrg Translation) to flip monsters facedown… and these are just the on-theme options. Don’t forget you can also turn to generic Fairy disruption options, such as Herald of Orange Light or Herald of the Arc Light. Or turn to Small World (YGOrg Translation) for additional consistency in getting to that all-important Venus! So grasp the orbits of your solar system with Hyperion in his Sanctuary in the Sky!
