RD/KP17-JP042 七宝神-米大 Shichihoujin – Beidai (Deity of Seven Treasures – Beidai)
Level 7 LIGHT Fairy Effect Monster
ATK 2300
DEF 1700
If there is a monster with 2700 DEF or “Ship of Seven Treasures” in your GY, you can Special Summon this card from the hand face-up.
[REQUIREMENT] None
[EFFECT] Send the top 2 cards of your Deck to the GY, then, you can choose 1 face-up monster on your opponent’s field and have it lose 700 ATK/DEF until the end of the opponent’s next turn.
Note: The monster’s name is 米大, which means “Lots of Rice”. Of note, during the medieval era of Japan, rice was basically the currency of the state, as coins and gold were generally distrusted by the Samurai and Shogunate.
Also, this card is based on Daikokuten, one of the Seven Gods of Fortune, and the God of Food and Rice.
His design looks like an American Superhero because 米 is used as shorthand to say “America” in Japanese.
